Algebra I - Creating a Significant Learning Environment

My goal is that when my learners finish Algebra I, they will be able to utilize what they learned to help them solve real-world problems.

Our campus is all in one story building. It has several entrances but only one of then is IDEA compliant. Therefore, my Big Harry Audacious Goal (BHAG) is that my learners develop a plan using the skill they have learned in Algebra 1 to design IDEA compliant ramps so that wheelchair bound people will have more than one exit in the event of an emergency evacuation of the building. We will submit they to our district maintenance facilities for approval, and installation.

The table below in my overall plan on creating a significant learning environment for Algebra I classes.
